The magazine quickly established itself as the most shocking, subversive, and unpredictable mass-circulation magazine ever, offering comic perspectives never before captured in print. From revolutionizing the magazine industry to launching the careers of some of comedy's most honored performers and writers, NATIONAL LAMPOON has forever changed the face of humor ¿ and American culture. From movies to books to radio to TV to the web, the NATIONAL LAMPOON has been breaking the barriers of humor and good taste since its inception.

Customer Rating: Summary: Animal Cruelty is unnecassary to promote a product Comment: I understand that everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but what about common human decency? I'm a fan of morbid humour, but when you are making fun of killing an innocent creature, I think it has gone too far. Would NP have released this cover if the gun were being held to the head of a baby or a racial minority? I'm not talking about politically correct humour. I am merely saying that it is unfortunate that NP has not only included this front cover image, but the back cover clearly indicates that the threat has been carried out. It's not about being tasteful. It's about actually crossing a line into cruelty. So, this product sucks and it insults the intelligence and the level of humor of NP fans.
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended!! Comment: After reading the other reviews, I decided to try this even though other reviewers had some gripes about it. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews! I am a huge fan of the magazine, and now I will be able to read all of the issues in the entire run! PDF format makes it very portable and easy to use. Well worth the money if you enjoy the magazine - don't believe the negative reviews this product is awesome!
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice to re-read the classic first ten years Comment: It was nice to re-read the classic first ten years when Kenny and Beard were on board. I bought the first few issues while in VietNam and it was a blast of fresh air then and still a good read now. Some of Doug Kenny's articles are priceless. I continued reading the mag when I went back to college. Everyone in the dorm was a fan of the magazine. This product is a great way to collect the entire series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beware - not entirely complete Comment: The first thing I looked for on this DVD was one of my favorite issues, "Self Indulgence" only to discover the 1973 issue #12 is missing pages 31-41. This was a comic page centerfold and had probably been ripped out of the copy which was scanned for this DVD. How many other issues have whole sections like this missing? Also for some reason my DVD-ROM drive was unable to access any of the program files on this disc. The only folders which show up are 1970's issues. I have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat but it couldn't open the start file either. I tried it on a friends computer and it worked normally there. I don't know why my drive at home can't read it. I wrote to technical support at GIT almost a week ago, but I have received no response yet. I also mentioned the missing pages.
Customer Rating: Summary: 'Poon fans have reason to celebrate! Comment: Although it is sometimes awkward maneuvering through the PDF documents it's all there - as a long-time subscriber, I've really enjoyed re-reading the articles and enjoying the cartoons
