Customer Rating: Summary: Been Loving this game,But.. Comment: I've been playing this game since it was Championship Manager 2 [season 96/97] with players like George Weah,Baggio,Baresi,Romario still playing.i bought this WWSM08 from amazon, thinking it's way too expensive for the real Football Manager 08 [FM08] in eBay,it's like US$20 extra.so i decided why not try WWSM.
got it and i love it..just like any other CM or FM games...love the features, love the database and it's really fun.
finish the first season and i'm trying to play Italy national team,so that i can play in Euro 08.My national team qualify from the group stage and been told that we're going to Euro 08,but guess what, none of the big nation who qualify from group stage went to Euro 08 [like England,Italy,Spain,Holland].Instead, all these small nation like Azerbaijan,Andorra, and lots of them, which we can't control them, playing in Euro 08.
i know i've been told that there's bugs and problems with WWSM or FM08 but this part really dissapointed me.i never played more than 2 seasons in WWSM08 but i kept going back to play FM07 and played more than 10 seasons there..
this Euro thing is really bugging me.
i love this game, but i have to think twice to buy WWSM09...i dont want to spend $30 and got bugs all over the game.i would rather spend $20 more to buy FM09 than not having so much fun with WWSM09.
also,if you play Premier League, they dont include the kits and team logo.so we have to download it from 'somewhere' which makes me think, what's the point with buying the game if i have to download parts of it from outside ?? isn't it easier for me just to download the whole game with all the kits, logo, background in the game already ??
but if you want to try this game, buy Football Manager. It's worth it.
btw,try Football Manager Live...it's going to be lot's of fun !
Customer Rating: Summary: Addicting.. but I wish it could be a little better Comment: This is alright game. Even though I expected improvements, they are still to be made. For example, it is very annoying when team passes forward.. up to the opposing side's goal, ... and suddenly forward or striker passes the ball back (!!) instead of shooting.. what sort of intelligence is it?
Another thing I wish to be improved is the ability to build training complexes and stadiums. I remember playing game '442'. There it had fancy GUI and even the ability to set prices for soda and hot-dogs. In this game, however, I can only ask board for improving the training facilities, or youth training facilities... I wish this game had map, or picture of a stadium, and training facilities, etc.
Otherwise, this game is pretty addicting and fun. In the good legacy of Football Managers. :D
Customer Rating: Summary: Failed Comment: I have played most of the Soccer Manager games even when it was Championship Manager when the game first came out. This version has been the worst. I found the results very unrealistic. No matter what tactics or formations I used I lost most games. My friends have had the same problem. The game has been improved but how wants to play a manager game where you management doesn't change a thing. I hope 2009 is better I love the Soccer Manager Series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great game, but missing something Comment: The game concept alone is genius and you will probably spend countless hours playing this game when first purchasing it. Although its very good, it can get quite old after a while and the difficulty level becomes very frustrating. Having a great team with great players is not enough to beat a mediocre team. One has to constantly play with tactics and adjust to each team and that can get restless. The information needed to play the game is not provided and has to be found by countless hours in search of it in the internet. At the same time, its a gem.. its the best game in its class and you will find yourself jumping for joy as one of your small circle scores against Manu, real madrid or any other power house in your league. Very addicting and worth the purchase. Fifa manager 09 might be this years diamond, though. I really hope Amazon carries it this year so we can purchase it.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Game of Games Comment: This is for soccer lovers..It gives you a deep knowledge of the world of soccer. It puts you in the driving seat and makes you feel in control.Your decisions count on every front so you would want to make the right one..and remember there is nothing like making decisions and earning sweet victory through them.
